In 1777, from a selection of herbs imported by the Dutch fleet, in a small shop in Leidschendam the liqueur maker Petrus Boonekamp invented the world's first completely sugar-free bitter.
From the very first moment, Petrus Boonekamp bitters have been praised by critics and enthusiasts for their incredible quality. A taste and flavor that have brought them recognition for over two centuries.
It is unique in taste and recipe, because it contains no sugar.
For this reason it is characterised by the distinct bitter notes of gentian, the scent of liquorice with a veiled flavour of galangal.
